Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

The 60s and 70s wanted peace louder than any generations before them—marches, flowers, two fingers in the air, all symbols used to protest, which tells you something: the world’s peace is always against something. It needs the noise to stop before it shows up.

He handed out peace on the worst night of His life—He could have prayed for calmer circumstances, but He did not. Instead, He bequeathed His peace to the world, something He could give, all the while knowing what was waiting for Him.
